Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what we will not do with it.
What we collect
There are no forms on this site, and nothing on it asks you for personal information. If you telephone or email us, we hold the number or address you contacted us from, anything you choose to tell us, and the substance of what we discussed, including a mobile number if you give us one so that we can reply by text.
When you become a client we collect the identity and ownership information required to file with a government registry and, where applicable, to satisfy anti money laundering obligations. That is the point at which the amount of information we hold about you increases significantly, and we will tell you what is needed and why before asking for it.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, to reply to you by the method you used to reach us, to prepare and file documents on your instruction, to perform the accounting and tax services you engage us for, and to meet our own legal and record keeping obligations. We do not collect information we have no use for, and we do not ask for a phone number in order to put it on a list.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with banks, lenders or any other commercial party in exchange for payment of any kind. We do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask to join. Specifically, and because it is the part people most want reassurance about: your mobile number and your consent to receive text messages from us are never sold, rented, shared or passed to any third party for their own marketing, and they are not shared with affiliates or partners for any purpose at all.
How long we keep it
For as long as we act for you, and afterwards for the period our professional and legal record keeping obligations require. Enquiry information from people who do not become clients is deleted once it is no longer needed to answer the enquiry.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to us and we will respond. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights and we will honour those.
Text messages
Giving us a mobile number is entirely optional. We can always reply by email or by telephone instead.
If you do give us a mobile number, by telephone, by email or when you engage us, you are agreeing that we may reply to you by text about the thing you contacted us about, and afterwards about the progress of work you have engaged us to do, such as a filing that has been accepted or a document that needs your signature. Message frequency varies and depends on what is happening with your matter. Message and data rates may apply, and that is between you and your carrier rather than something we control.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, and you will get one confirmation and then nothing further. Reply HELP to any message for contact details. You can also simply tell us by telephone or email and we will take the number off. Opting out of texts does not affect anything else: we will still answer your questions and still act on your filings, by email and telephone instead.
Carriers are not liable for messages that arrive late or do not arrive at all, which is worth knowing if anything in your matter is time sensitive. Where a deadline matters, we confirm in writing by email as well, because email is the record and a text message is a convenience.
We never use text messages to send marketing to people who have not asked for it, and we never obtained your number from anybody else. If you receive a text from a number claiming to be us and you did not give us your number, it is not us, and we would be grateful if you told us about it.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and carries no advertising pixels, no third party scripts and no cross site tracking. Its pages, fonts and images are all served from our own hosting, so nobody else sees your visit. If we ever add analytics we will say so here first, and it will be a privacy respecting implementation.
