Three calculators that answer the questions we get asked most. Nothing is gated, nothing asks for your email, and each one tells you what it does not model.
Which jurisdiction should you form in?
Four questions at most. The first one usually decides it.
- Most common answer
- Your home state, which surprises people
Where are you resident?
This is the single fact that decides most of the answer.
What matters more?
With no US premises or staff, no state has a prior claim, so the choice is genuinely yours.
Is outside investment genuinely coming?
Scheduled or in progress, not aspirational.
Is outside investment genuinely coming?
This overrides everything else if the answer is yes.
What will it actually cost?
Setup and the first full year, using our real published prices with the state fee shown as a range because it varies from state to state.
- Excludes
- Expedite fees and anything you have not asked for
Is an S corporation election worth it yet?
The question we are asked more than any other, and the one most often answered with a rule of thumb that does not survive contact with the numbers.
- Models
- Payroll tax difference and our service cost
- Does not model
- Income tax, state tax, QBI, retirement contributions, or salary reasonableness
Common questions
Are these tools accurate?
They are honest about what they model. The jurisdiction chooser encodes the same reasoning we use on a first call. The cost estimator uses our published prices and an indicative range for government fees, which vary and change. The S corporation tool models the payroll tax difference and our service costs only, and deliberately does not pretend to model income tax or the reasonableness of a salary.
Do I have to give you my email to use them?
No. Nothing here is gated. We think a tool that holds its answer hostage is a poor advertisement for how the firm works.
Can I get the same answer from a person?
Yes, and for anything consequential you should. These are a starting point that makes the first conversation shorter and more useful.
